#SportsWatch:  Charles Adeloye Pioneers Kukuruku Runners Club

Afemai-born Mr. Charles Adeloye, a maritime shipping professional cum runner from Igarra, the headquarters of Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, Edo State, South-South Nigeria has concluded plans to pioneer a runners club to be known and called Kukuruku Runners Club.

Disclosing this to AfemaiToday this morning at Igarra, Mr. Charles Adeloye said that Kukuruku Runners Club would as a training camp for those who wished to become professional runners as well as those who wished to remain physically fit. “Running is good and medically recommended for the health of all”, he emphasized.

On the track record of his participation in running events, Charles Adeloye recalled, “I have participated in a number of running events in Nigeria. Most prominent among them are The Athletics Federation of Nigeria/MTN Half Marathon in 2005; the world-class Okpekpe 10km Road Race for three consecutive times in 2015, 2016 and 2018 out of which the immediate past Edo State governor, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole publicly recognized me during the 2016 edition; and 42-km Access Bank/Lagos City Marathon also for three consecutive times in 2016, 2017 and 2018 during which I was decorated with medals by His Excellency, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, the governor of Lagos State.

The son of late Okomayin Omodare General Adeloye whose just-concluded entombment was a talk-of-the-town promised to unfold the take-off details of the club very soon.
