Group condemns incessant rape of minors and women without justice

A Non-Government Organization, Brave Heart Initiatives in
partnership with Civil Society Organizations and other
non-governmental organizations have embarked on a protest march
against rape of minors and women in Edo State.

Patience Osarogiuwa reports that the protest march walk took the
protesters to several roads in Benin City.

The aggrieved members of Brave Heart Initiative in company of
other civil society organizations matched through Oba Ovoranmwen
square and Sapele Road in Benin City distributing hand bills and
stickers to condemn the alleged incessant rape of minors and women
in Edo state.

The group also took the sensitization campaign to the Edo State
NUJ Secretariat where they sue for the collaboration of the press
to help stop the rising crime of rape.

The Executive Director of the Akoko-Edo based group,  Brave
Heart Initiative who sponsored the sensitization walk, alleged that
sexual violations in Edo State has increased in the state and
offenders not prosecuted.

In his remarks, Chairman, NUJ Edo State, Sir Roland Osakue said
the campaign against sexual abuse is laudable, even the union is
ready to partner with the organization to ensure rapists are
persecuted.

Some members of the civil society organizations and
non-governmental organizations and non-governmental organizations
added their voices to the campaign.
Brave Heart Initiative is situated at Afekhai Street, Akoko-Edo,
Igarra, Edo State, Nigeria.
