COVID 19 PANDEMIC: IDA Appeals for Donations.

The figures are scary indeed. The Coronavirus pandemic is real, with community infection taking its toll on the citizens. Despite efforts by govt at all levels to flatten the curve, the virus is unyielding, with more and more people contracting the virus daily.
We can not afford to leave our people exposed to this dangerous virus.
IDA has therefore decided to step in and partner the state govt in this fight.
From the protocols released by the Federal Ministry of Health,
1) Awareness
2) Hand Washing with soap and
3) Wearing of Face Masks, are ways the spread of the virus can be curtailed.
IDA has therefore commissioned:
*A tailor in Igarra to produce some Ministry of Health specs’ Face Masks that will be distributed to our people.
*We are also in the process of commissioning the production of about 25-30 units of Handwashing Bowls with soap and Sanitizers that will be placed at strategic spots in the town for use.
*Thirdly, we desire to continue with a series of awareness campaigns on Covid19 all across Igarra. We started this campaign a fortnight ago.
All of these will cost between 300-400k, for which we are soliciting the support of kindhearted sons and daughters.
We are glad to announce the donation of 50k already from one of us, Edi Lawani.
Etuno Development Foundation (EDF) chaired by Augustine Otaru, has also expressed its willingness to partner IDA in this regard.
